As an Employer Partner, you play a critical role in upholding access and equity principles in the workplace. This page outlines your responsibilities, expectations, and available support to ensure a fair, diverse, and inclusive apprenticeship and traineeship experience.
What is Access and Equity?
Access and equity means ensuring that all apprentices and trainees:
✔ Have equal opportunity to participate in apprenticeships and traineeships, regardless of race, language, culture, religion, gender, age, ability, or socioeconomic background.
✔ Are treated fairly and without discrimination in recruitment, training, and workplace experiences.
✔ Receive reasonable adjustments if required to ensure equal participation.
✔ Have access to support services to address any barriers to success.
Your Responsibilities as an Employer Partner
As an Employer Partner of NGJ, you must:
✅ Provide equal access to apprenticeships and traineeships, ensuring no discrimination in hiring or workplace practices.
✅ Offer a supportive environment that promotes diversity and inclusion.
✅ Ensure workplace policies comply with anti-discrimination laws and NGJ’s Access and Equity Policy.
✅ Communicate expectations to workplace supervisors and team members.
✅ Monitor and report any access or equity concerns to NGJ.
✅ Allow apprentices/trainees to raise concerns and participate in complaints, grievance, and appeals processes if needed.
How We Support You and Your Apprentices
At NGJ, we work closely with you to ensure access and equity principles are upheld. We provide:
✔ Training and orientation materials to help you understand your obligations.
✔ Regular site visits where our mentors discuss access and equity issues with you and your apprentice.
✔ A dedicated support team for apprentices and trainees facing barriers to success.
✔ A confidential complaints and grievance process to resolve concerns fairly.

Acknowledgment and Compliance
All Employer Partners are required to acknowledge and comply with NGJ’s Access and Equity Policy.
You will sign the Employer Partner Orientation Checklist, confirming your understanding of access and equity expectations.
Our mentors will reinforce these expectations during regular site visits.
Failure to comply may lead to corrective actions or review of partnership agreements.
